MANY ACTIVITIES AIMING CONCRETE RESULTS

FNV PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

After all the preparations, FSASH and SPASH have started the organisation of the activities in the framework of FNV Project implementation.

  1. Right after the improvement of the project, both organisations, FSASH and SPASH, organised the meetings of their leading bodies, where a wide description of the project was presented and discussed, pointing out the necessity of the engagement of all their structures in central and local levels, objectives to be reached, activities to be organised and responsibility of leaders and trade unionists involved.
  2. The first meeting of the of National Coordination Group on Child Labour prevention and elimination, organised in Tirana, on the 23rd of May, was followed by the districts Working Groups in Fieri, Korca, Tirana (Kamza area) and Durresi, as well as by 8 pilot schools working groups in Fieri (Levan, Zhupan, Mbrostar and Roskovec) and Tirana (Kamza, Valiasi, Burqesh and Zallmner).

Important was that for each meeting was prepared a special file, having objectives to be reached in the framework of the project implementation, activities to be organised, as well as questionnaires about the pupils who will be monitored by teachers, Magazine “Tribuna Sindikale” etc. The same method was applied also in Korça and Durresi, where the work will be focused in some pilot schools where the problems of dropping out and child labour is more evident.
Identification of the pupils, organisation of monitoring system and including pupils themselves in the prevention activities are under the process in every district and pilot school after those meetings.
It is important that in every meeting have taken part representatives from the district education directories and school administration, which is reflecting the effective collaboration of FSASH and SPASH with the Ministry of Education and Science.

  1. After the meeting of National Working Group on consolidation of TU sections, concrete work is under the process in 10 districts, including those which have not been subject of our previous activities and where we have more problems in functioning of their structures, ( Bulqiza, Delvina, Gramshi, Hasi, Puka, Saranda, Tropoja, Peqini etc). A special meeting was organised with their representatives on the 25 of June, where they reported about the situation and discussed about the concrete objectives to be reached, especially in reorganising structures and increasing the number of members, (who pay the membership fee).
  2. The same method is being followed also regarding teachers women participation in the trade unions. The meeting of National Working Group on women participation has engaged the members of this meeting in concrete work to reorganise the women committees in the above mentioned districts, having a meeting with them on the 26th of June, discussing the situation and further activities to be organised, in the framework of the project implementation, aiming to realise the respective objectives.
  3. Special attention is being paid to the membership fee collection, through contacts with local leaders and trade unions representatives in the schools, as well as local government authorities, especially in the prefectures trying to involve them in the new method of reduction the membership fee from the salary, through bank operations. Compared to the past, SPASH is having better results for the time being. We plan to organise the meetings in the framework of the project with some of them by the beginning of July.
  4. Both chairmen of our unions, Dobrushi and Kruja, have taken part in all of these activities and have given an important contribution to the engagement of local representatives to the project effective implementation of the project.
  5. Communication with our members is also being improved, through the Magazine “Tribuna Sindikale”, being published regularly. The last issue was dedicated mainly to the project implementation activities, as well as to the reform in education system in our country, the impact of the new system of income - tax in budgetary employees in Albania etc.

Thanks to FNV support, after all the preparations, just some days ago, both trade unions, FSASH /SPASH, published their website, another important tool for a better communication with their members.
Except for everything done regarding child labour prevention and elimination, there are there some of the main documents of our trade unions including their statutes, the collective agreement in power, some of the main issues of the magazine and so on. Of course, still the number of the teachers having the possibility to use the Internet is limited, but this number we expect to be increased rapidly, also being considered a priority for the Albanian government.
Its address is: www.fsash-spash.com.
It is in Albanian, but ate the same time a shorter version is also in English.
A working plan is under the process of updating for the fall period, where Dutch experts are also expected to participate.
